RICHMOND, Calif.—Aug. 10, 2022—New Sun Road partners with Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) to provide its Stellar Microgrid OSTM as the remote monitoring and control platform for PG&E’s growing fleet of hybrid renewable energy standalone power systems. These rural grids can permanently replace overhead distribution power lines or provide power during Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) in High Fire-Threat Districts (HFTD), improving reliability and significantly reducing wildfire risk.

The Karume Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) is just down the road from Stonetown on the island of Unguja (Zanziba, Tanzania). KIST is a technical college offering Bachelor’s degrees, diploma, and vocational training in the practical sciences needed in any growing economy.

With New Sun Road doubling in revenues each year or more, we are pleased to welcome additional support in developing our programs and partnerships in Africa and operations to ensure timely delivery of our products for remotely controlling renewable energy microgrids.

Dr. Arrechea manages New Sun Road’s digital and remote energy access program in Guatemala. Her program connects over 1000 people to the internet with a focus on women’s leadership training and economic opportunity creation.
