About Us
Our Story
New Sun Road (NSR) was established in 2014 with a mission to accelerate renewable energy deployment and access for remote communities. Our first projects were in Africa where we deployed microgrids, testing our IoT devices, connectivity and software. We recognized that to scale energy access, remote monitoring and reliable connectivity are critical to power systems operations.
Our unique Stellar monitoring and control platform for renewable energy microgrids is hardware-agnostic. It is flexible and scalable providing industry, government, nonprofit, and academic partners a mission control for their distributed energy fleets. Stellar uses IoT and AI technologies to reduce operating costs, increase uptime, optimize performance, improve resiliency, and reduce carbon emissions.
New Sun Road is a for-profit public benefit company (P.B.C.) and we are guided by principles of environmental sustainability and economic development. We make a global impact for productive purposes. Our work can be found in more than 20 countries across five continents.
