New Sun Road 2025 Highlights
New Sun Road feels more strongly than ever in the importance of what we do. Thanks to you, the Stellar platform now provides energy management for more that 1800 microgrids in 20 countries.
- Stabilizing the grid and unlocking capacity
- Connecting underserved communities with electricity and internet
- Providing reliable power in the face of climate change and
- Improving performance and reducing the cost of power.
Here are some links showing how we are unlocking the value of microgrids.
-
Networked Microgrids
With Oak Ridge National Lab and the US Department of Energy, we are demonstrating the capability of networked microgrids → Learn more about networked microgrids

Impact Projects
- The cancellation of the USAID Women in the Digital Economy Fund (WIDEF) prevented us from expanding the number of women-led digital community centers. However, we are grateful to the Summit Foundation, Focus Central America Foundation, Free STEM Fund, and individual donors who continue to support the existing 30 centers.
- The United Nations Energy Compact issued a case study on our Digital Community Centers and we published a peer-reviewed article in the Journal Frontiers in Research Metrics and Analytics analyzing their role in enhancing digital literacy and changing gender perspectives in Northern Huehuetenango.
- Sponsoring and supporting climatetech workforce development:
- Graduate students from the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business investigated grow pathways for scaling microgrids
- Half-day training on DER and DERMs controls at the LA Cleantech Incubator and sponsoring two product specialist interns
- Data center opportunity mapping project with University of California Berkeley CYC student group.
As we look to 2026, we continue to deepen our partnerships and collaborations to deliver cost effective clean energy, grid modernization and resilient power solutions. With you, we are stronger, building a clean energy infrastructure to power a resilient future.
